Your desire is to lose weight but if you really want to have success then you need to have a specific goal in mind in terms of what you want to achieve otherwise you will never maintain your motivation because you do not have a specific goal to work towards. To make this concept a little easier to understand let’s compare losing weight to taking a trip somewhere. Saying that you want to lose weight is similar to saying that you want to take a trip because both are a general goal in and of themselves. But if you actually want to make a trip somewhere then you need to determine a specific destination where you want to go and make the necessary plans to get you there otherwise you will never end up going anywhere. It is the same with losing weight. It is one thing to say that you want to lose weight but quite another to actually choose a realistic "destination" and develop a proper plan that will get you there. You should start off with a specific goal that is easily attainable like losing ten pounds or reducing the size of your waist by two inches. These are specific goals that anyone can achieve and give you a specific destination to work towards. Once you achieve your goal then you can set up a new goal but the lesson here is to have a specific goal in mind when you determine that you want to lose weight otherwise you will most likely end up going nowhere with your weight loss.
